Cancellable Combo

Q: What is a cancellable combo?
A: Cancelling is the act of interrupting the animation of an attack. The starting attack must have a cancellable ending animation to execute a cancel combo. Most auto attacks can be cancelled into a move.

Example: Lucario's Basic Attack cancels into Quick Attack.

Q: What is a buffered combo (Input Buffering)?
A: Input buffering is sending input for a move before the previous move's execution is finished. For buffered combos, the starting attack must have input buffering enabled for the ending animation.

Example: Lucario's Bone Rush cannot be cancelled, but other inputs can be queued up and executed on the first available frame - if it is input during the Bone Rush attack animation.

Items

Focus Band

Q: How much is Focus Band's total healing without incoming damage?
A: Focus Band's per tick healing is based on missing HP but must proc at 25% (75% missing hp).

Assuming Focus Band procs at exactly 25% for you and you take no damage afterwards:

  • Tick 1 will result in 12% x missing hp (which would be 75%) = 9%
  • Tick 2 will result in 12% x missing hp (which is 75%-9%) = 7.92%
  • Tick 3 will result in 12% x missing hp (which is 75%-9%-7.92%) = 6.96%

Focus Band therefore comes to about 23.88% of your max hp if you take no extra damage after procing Focus Band.

Float Stone, Leftovers, Assault Vest

Q: What qualifies as "out of combat"?
A: Having dealt and having been dealt no damage for 5s. This applies to anything that can be dealt damage. Casting buff spells, popping Unites, transforming abilities, or whiffing skillshots will not bring you out of the "out of combat" state.

Crustle

Q: How does Crustle Shell Smash work?
A: Crustle's Shell Smash only takes into account the base value of Defense and Special Defense at each level. Direct increases from items, the Sturdy passive, and other sources are not considered.

These additional Defense and Special Defense stats will stay while Shell Smash is active and increases your survivability! The Defense stat will be converted to the Attack stat. And the Special Defense stat to Special Attack stat. As Crustle does not benefit from Special Attack, this is wasted Special Defense.

Example: Level 15 Crustle has 580 defense and 400 Special Defense.
This will be converted to:
0 Defense and 0 Special Defense.
232 Attack and 160 Special Attack.

Note: Shell Smash+ increases the conversion rate by 50%.

Q: Does Weakness Policy / X-Attack work with Shell Smash?
A: Yes! The new Attack stat will be multiplied by the item bonus percentage.

Note: For Weakness Policy, there is a minor mechanical discrepancy.
The buff from Weakness Policy stores the extra damage for the next Basic Attack / Move. When Shell Smash is activated, the first Basic Attack or move will use the extra damage from Weakness Policy's stored amount (before Shell Smash). All following Basic Attacks or Moves during Shell Smash's duration will have the expected full Weakness Policy buff.

You do not lose out on damage! Once Shell Smash expires, the Weakness Policy buff still uses the stored (Shell Smash) extra damage amount for the next basic attack or move. Then all of the following attacks are using only Weakness Policy without the Shell Smash bonus.

PS: Weakness Policy must be active the whole time.

Hoopa

Q: Does Hoopa's Unite Move consider item HP for the health point multiplier?
A: Yes it does.

Because of this, Hoopa is the Pokémon with the highest health pool while unbound; with a fully leveled Buddy Barrier, Aeos Cookie, and Score Shield reaching up to 14,548 HP.

Charizard

Q: How does Charizard's Basic Attack interact with certain items / buffs?
A: The Basic Attack is always the same. Leveling up does not increase Charizard's Attack Speed - only the Basic Attack range. No buffs or debuffs will change Charizard's Attack Speed.

Note: The attack consists of 4 distinct hits that are at certain intervals from each other. Because of this, some items interact rather uniquely with Charizard's Basic Attacks:

Scope Lens:

Because Charizard has a high Critical-Hit Rate and 4 chances of causing a critical hit for every basic attack, this almost guarantees 1 of the 4 hits will be a critical strike. Therefore, Scope Lens will likely proc one time during each basic attack (on average).

Helping Hand (Blissey):

Charizard does not get an attack speed bonus from HH, but the damage bonus from HH+ is applied.

Blue Buff (Ludicolo):

If a wild Pokémon is below a certain health threshold, the bonus damage is triggerable.
This bonus damage can trigger only on basic attacks. It also has a similar cooldown as Muscle Band. Charizard can proc this bonus damage 2 times with one basic attack cycle.
