unite-db ("us", "we", or "our") operates the unite-db.com website (the "Service").
This page describes what data the Service collects, why it is collected, who processes it on our behalf, how long it is kept, and the choices you have. By using the Service you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
unite-db is a free, ad-supported reference site. There are no accounts, no logins, and no forms: you can use every part of the Service — the Pokémon database, tier lists, builds, boost emblems, stats, maps and patch notes — without telling us anything about yourself. Almost everything described below is collected automatically by our advertising and analytics partners rather than typed in by you.
Because the Service has no account system, the following are absent by design rather than by omission:
We collect information on how the Service is accessed and used ("Usage Data"). This may include your device's Internet Protocol address (IP address), browser type and version, the pages of our Service that you visit, the time and date of your visit, the time spent on those pages, unique device identifiers, and other diagnostic data. This is collected through our analytics provider and is not connected to any identity, because we hold none.
The Service is supported by advertising. Our advertising partner and the ad vendors it works with collect data through your browser in order to select, deliver and measure ads. This typically includes your IP address, coarse location derived from it, cookies and similar identifiers stored on your device, the pages you view, and inferences about your interests drawn from that activity. Cookies are files with a small amount of data which may include an anonymous unique identifier. Cookies are sent to your browser from a website and stored on your device.
unite-db itself sets no cookies. The cookies present on the Service are set by our analytics and advertising partners, plus the consent record described below. We set no session cookies and no security cookies, because there is no session and nothing to secure.
Analytics cookies. Google Analytics uses cookies to distinguish visits and visitors.
Advertising cookies. Our advertising partner and its vendors use cookies and similar identifiers to select and measure ads and to limit how often you see the same one.
Consent record. If you are shown a consent prompt, your answer is stored on your device so you are not asked again on every page. Changing your answer through the manage-consent link updates that record.
Local storage. The Service uses your browser's local storage for exactly two things, both of them layout preferences on your own device: which tab you last had open on a Pokémon page, and which tab you last had open on the boost emblems page. This data stays in your browser, is never transmitted to us, and clearing your browser storage removes it.
You can instruct your browser to refuse all cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being sent, and you can learn more about managing them in the Browser Cookies Guide. The Service remains usable with cookies refused.
We do not send marketing email — we have no address to send it to. We do not build profiles of our own about you, and the only data leaving the Service is what our analytics and advertising partners collect in the course of doing the jobs described above.
Ads on the Service are served by our advertising partner NitroPay. You can read the NitroPay privacy policy for how they handle data, including the list of advertising vendors they work with.
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you are shown a consent prompt before personalised advertising and non-essential cookies are used, and your choices are recorded under the IAB Transparency and Consent Framework.
If you are in California or another US state with a similar law, you have the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information for targeted advertising, using the link in the Right to Opt-Out section below. We also honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal if your browser sends one.
Withdrawing consent or opting out does not remove the ads; it limits the data used to choose them, so you will see less relevant ones.

Stated plainly, so you know what to expect: because the Service holds no accounts and no identifiers of our own, we usually have nothing on file that we can connect to you as a person. In most cases the honest answer to an access or deletion request is that we hold nothing about you, and the useful action is with our partners — the consent and opt-out controls described above, and the privacy policies linked in Service Providers, which are where advertising and analytics data actually lives.
The controls you can use yourself, immediately and without contacting anyone, are: the consent link (EEA/UK), the opt-out link (California and similar states), the Google Analytics opt-out add-on, and clearing your browser's cookies and local storage.
Your information may be transferred to, and maintained on, computers located outside of your state, province, country, or other governmental jurisdiction where the data protection laws may differ from those of your jurisdiction.
The Service is operated from the United States, and our providers operate globally distributed infrastructure. If you are located outside the United States and choose to use the Service, please note that your data is processed in the United States and elsewhere. Your use of the Service represents your agreement to that transfer.

The measure that matters most here is structural: we hold no accounts, no passwords, and no database of personal information, so there is no store of it to breach. Traffic to the Service is served over HTTPS.
That said, no method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your data, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
Our Service contains links to other sites that are not operated by us, including our data sources, affiliates and community links. If you click a third party link you will be directed to that third party's site, and we strongly advise you to review the privacy policy of every site you visit.
We have no control over and assume no responsibility for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third party sites or services.
The Service is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not ask for anyone's age and we do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from anyone under the age of 13. If we become aware that we have collected "personal information", as defined by the United States Children's Online Privacy Protection Act ("COPPA"), from a child under the age of 13 without legally valid parental consent, we will take reasonable steps to delete it as soon as possible. We also comply with other age restrictions and requirements in accordance with applicable local laws.
This Privacy Notice for California Residents supplements the information contained elsewhere in this Privacy Policy and applies solely to all visitors, users, and others who reside in the State of California ("consumers" or "you"). We adopt this notice to comply with the California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018 (CCPA), and any terms defined in the CCPA have the same meaning when used in this notice.
