What are held items?

Held items are selected before the match and provide permanent stat boosts to your Pokémon for the duration of the match. Items also provide special conditional effects based on the item description. At trainer level 10 you can have up to 3 held items equipped. These cannot be changed once the match begins and new held items can be purchased in the shop and upgraded to level 30 using in-game shop currency. More passive bonuses unlock on each item at item level 0 / 10 / 20.
